Synopsis of Work:

The first of two contracts on this Ames project includes the site grading at the 150-acre location for a new 480 MW coal-fired power plant. The site work includes construction of entrance and site roads, installation of erosion control facilities and drainage structures. The work includes 1.4 million cy of earthwork, and 3,000 lf of 18-inch to 54-inch diameter pipe.

The second contract includes the concrete substructure and construction of underground electrical duct banks (75,000 cy of concrete), as well as the installation of 80,000 lf  of mechanical piping and storm sewer systems. The project also includes  driving 4,200 each, 14 x 73 H-pile This project is a cooperative effort between three Ames regional offices (Rocky Mountain, Western and Midwest regions.)
