Demolition, earthwork, structural excavation, backfill, aggregate base and yard piping. This project included expanding the facility from 12 million gallons per day to 24 million gallons per day. Project included 2,000,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 37,000 tons of aggregate placement, 36,500 linear feet of 4" to 12"-dia. DI piping, 14,000 linear feet of 14" to 36"-dia. DI piping, 2,500 linear feet of 42" to 64"-dia. DI piping and 10,000 linear feet of miscellaneous 1" to 3"-dia. pipe.
Phase I: This phase included 990,120 cy of earthwork, 10,614 lf of 66"-dia RCP pipe, 31,218 lf of 42" to 48"-dia CCF pipe, 20,508 lf of 48"-dia steel pipe, 350 lf of tunneling and 1,730 cy of structural concrete.
Phase II: The phase included the installation of 12,460 lf of 66"-dia RCP pipe, 18,130 lf of 36" to 42"-dia CCF pipe, 12,882 lf of 18" to 24"-dia DIP pipe, fittings, maintenance holes, inlet and outlet structures. Ames work also included installation of a dual double-barrel forcemain, fittings, and gravity sanitary sewer needed for improvements to the Rosemount Interceptor.
Phase III: The scope of work of this phase included procurement, installation and testing of 6,400 lf of 66" to 78"-dia RCP gravity outfall pipe, 7,800 lf of 18" to 24"-dia DIP pipe, fittings and appurtenances, associated maintenance holes and other facilities by both open cut excavation and 5,175 lf of 54" to 78"-dia tunneling operations associated with transporting treated effluent from the Empire WWTP to the Mississippi River.
