Project Manager

Description:
PROJECT MANGER position is available out of our Saskatchewan, Canada office. The primary role of the Project Manager is to manage and ensure success of the entire project. Responsibilities include: Oversee all aspects of a project, especially the engineering, quality and administration departments of the project. Coordinating the engineering and administration with the operations side of the project. Ensuring the contractual compliance of the project, as well as all contractual documentation and billing. The Project Manager is the key liaison with the client and owner of the project. This position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in project management in civil and structural construction. Possess strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. In-depth knowledge of billing (ECMS), bidding (Heavy Bid, P6) and Microsoft Word software. Remain abreast of equipment Individual must be self motivating, possess strong analytical, communications and leadership skills. Fluent in English.

Regional Equipment Manager

Description:
REGIONAL EQUIMPMENT MANAGER position is available out of our Saskatchewan, Canada office. The primary role of the Regional Equipment Manager is to the purchase, sale and maintenance of all construction equipment, vehicles, tools and supplies owned and used by Ames in its operations. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; manage shop personnel, set up, operate and maintain central shop, establish maintenance policies and procedures, maintain inventory and service agreements. Prepare requisition for all equipment, material and consumables, and maintain and purchase equipment or negotiate equipment rentals. Collaborate with field management and executive team. This position requires a minimum of 10 years experience working as a heavy duty mechanic, possess completion of Heavy Equipment Mechanic Certification, fleet management/maintenance and maintains a valid class 5 drivers license. Remain abreast of equipment Individual must be self motivating, possess strong analytical, communications and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, CAT software and fluent in English. Light travel required.

Truckdriver

Description:
TRUCKDRIVER positions are available in Council Bluffs, IA. Qualified candidate must have previous working experience, possess a valid CDL and compliant with DOT regulations. A tanker endorsement is preferred. Light travel required.

Carpenter Foreman

Region: Corporate/Midwest
Location: Minnesota

Description:
CARPENTER FOREMAN positions are available out of the Midwest Region. This position may include short/long term travel. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and assigning work to crew members including but not limited to: footing, wall and column forming, structural deck forms, layout and anchorage systems. Foreman must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 80 pounds, maintain high levels of efficiency without sacrificing safety and quality, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists, and be physically able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl. Candidates must have minimum of 5 years experience in a Carpenter Foreman role with Heavy/Highway Civil Construction Projects. Experience working on bridges, dams, and utility structures required.

Grade Foreman

Description:
GRADE FOREMAN positions are available out of our Midwest Region. These positions will cover Minnesota, North Dakota and surrounding areas, including short/long term travel. Responsibilities include reading, measuring and staking grade, TOPO surveys, and observe or modify all excavating activities. Possess experience in the construction industry managing and training dirt crews and maximizing efficiency. Candidate must have 5 years experience in a supervisory role, construction survey and grade staking procedures and proficient with Trimble GPS system and software and Total Station.

Senior Estimator

Region: Corporate/Midwest
Location: Minnesota

Description:
SENIOR ESTIMATOR position is available at our Midwest office. This position will join the Midwest estimating team located in Burnsville, MN and provide cost estimation on projects throughout the Midwest region. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment. Position requires analysis of plans and specifications, managing multiple estimates or a major estimate, computer-aided preparation of quantities, proposal preparation, subcontractor/supplier solicitations, estimate setup and cost preparation. Ideal candidate will have 7+ years working as an estimator with thorough knowledge of construction methods and equipment utilization. Candidate must have a strong estimating background with experience in earthwork, light rail, railroads, pipeline, CIP concrete structures, bridges, piling, MSE walls, underground utilities, shoring systems, grading, and mechanical pipe. Experience estimating heavy civil projects with major projects emphasis is preferred. Possess excellent communication skill, be detail oriented and be proficient in civil estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid or similar. Candidate shall also be proficient with Word, Excel, Cadd, and 3D earthwork programs. A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction management, or related field required.

Structures Superintendent

STRUCTURES SUPERINTENDENT positions are available out of our Midwest Region. These positions will cover Minnesota, North Dakota and surrounding areas, including short/long term travel. Responsibilities include field coordination, manage multiple work operations and crews, production and cost performance, work scheduling, jobsite safety, procurement of supplies and materials, and oversight of subcontractors. Project Administrative Assistant

Description:
PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT position is available at our new project located in Reno, Nevada. Responsibilities include: document control, prepare correspondence, answer incoming calls, and other general administrative support. Position requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in administrative support, ability to multi-task, proficiency in Microsoft Word applications and be self-motivating; administrative support in construction desired. Possess strong communication skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational and interpersonal skillfulness to interact with all levels of staff and clients.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities include develop and monitor day-to-day project operations, budget and schedule, quality control, safety, work delegation, ensuring contractors performance and projects are completed on-time. This position will assume a leadership/mentor role and provide guidance to project staff and managers. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 15-years experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager or related supervisory role, experience managing hydroelectric power projects and knowledge of construction budgeting in large civil capacity. Possess management, superior organizational and technical skills. Must be flexible to travel. A bachelors degree in construction management or related field is preferred.

Design Build Project Manager

DESIGN BUILD PROJECT MANAGER position is available out of our Western Region. This position is geographically located in Salt Lake City, Utah, but will cover projects in the surrounding states. This position is responsible for the overall administration and execution of assigned projects in a safe, profitable and timely manner. Responsibilities include, manage the project schedule, quality standards and companies established policies. Candidate must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with all levels of management, staff, subcontractors and clients. Project Scheduler

Description:
PROJECT SCHEDULER position is available out of our Salt Lake City, Utah office. Responsibilities include: detailed scheduling, activity ties, critical paths, resource loaded and progress updates based on construction progress. Ideal candidate will have two years of scheduling experience using Primavera software and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills to interface with owner representatives, engineering firms, subcontractors and other team members. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be detail-oriented. Must be familiar with all aspects of project construction management, including: submittals, purchasing, RFIs, cost tracking, and safety requirements. Must have a good understanding and technical background related to heavy and highway construction, mass earthworks, and underground piping associated with civil projects. A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Work hours are flexible.

The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to the team and Project Managers with change orders, vendor and subcontract project agreements, insurance bonds and project closeouts, document control, verification of legal documents, subcontractor solicitations and compliance, and other general administrative support. Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in administrative support, ability to multi-task, proficiency to expert level in all Microsoft Word applications and be self-motivating; administrative support in construction preferred. Possess strong written and communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. This position will handle a high level of confidential documents.

Pipe & Grading Foreman

Description:
PIPE & GRADING FOREMAN positions are available out of our Salt Lake City, UT and Carlin, NV, offices. Responsibilities will include field coordination, managing multiple work operations and crews, production and cost performance, work scheduling, jobsite safety, procurement of supplies and materials, and oversight/coordination of assigned subcontractors. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in grade stake and surveying, OSHA and MSHA requirements, and a supervisory role in heavy civil construction projects.
