The WLSSD Landfill Final Closure project is the second phase of a project with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as part of their Closed Landfill Clean-up Program.

Ames project scope consisted of removing 500,000 cubic yards of existing cover soils, regrading 300,000 cubic yards of waste and installing 80 acres of liner.
