Phoenix Copper Leach Facility Phase 1

Perspectives

Ames Construction // Leach Pads // Phoenix Copper Leach Facility Phase 1

Project Location: Battle Mountain, Nevada

Client: Newmont USA

Synopsis of work:

A new leach pad construction for this copper facility measured approximately 9,000,000 square feet. It contains solution collection channels and ponds on the south side. Ames built a haul road from the mine, installed culverts and piping, constructed a secondary containment channel and placed clay liner on edge berms, ponds, collection channels, and leak detection channels over compacted sub-grade.

The clay was topped with a synthetic liner and covered with a fine protective layer, produced by Ames’ aggregate crushing operation.
