Our Response to COVID-19: Safety First
The unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic comes with evolving information and action designed to maximize safety of citizens on a global scale. Aligning with our core values, Ames Construction maintains a Safety First commitment to our employees, partners, clients and the communities we serve as we all navigate the fluctuating recommendations and mandates issued by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local and national governments.
Ames Construction is among the businesses considered “essential” to the health of our nation and its economy. While other industries are asked to shutter their doors, Ames is busy at work to support the country’s infrastructure. Our fellow citizens, our neighbors, friends and families are depending on us to continue to build projects that make America better. We don’t take that responsibility lightly, and now more than ever, our focus on the health and well-being of our people is paramount to carrying out our duties.
Ames has implemented specific COVID-19 prevention and protective measures for employees in our offices and on our projects. These proactive measures include restricting all nonessential business travel, augmenting sanitation practices in office and work areas, working remotely where feasible, implementing safety assessments for all individuals entering our offices and job sites, conducting daily COVID-19 crew assessments, taken with each project crew member at the beginning of each shift. We provide support resources for maintaining physical and mental health, and send out regular updates and reminders of those resources. Yet our efforts do not end there. As information and new recommendations are issued, we evaluate our practices and adjust our procedures to maintain the highest standard of protective care.
We also continue to keep our commitments to our clients, employing the same protective measures for your people and communities as we do for our own. We are operating as one team, collaborating to solve the intensified challenges set in motion by this crisis. By doing so, we will come through the crisis stronger – together.
