Estimating Technical Assistant

ESTIMATING TECHNICAL ASSISTANT is available immediately at our Rocky Mountain Regional office, located in Aurora, CO. We are seeking a full-time individual to perform technical duties and provide assistance to our estimating department. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assist estimating staff with plan quantity takeoff and earthwork quantity calculations utilizing multiple programs (AutoCAD, Carlson, AGTEK, Bluebeam, Adobe), organize, interpret, compare, analyze and present data, prepare graphics for presentation, provide assistance to active projects, and drafting in support of estimating and active projects as needed. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possess a strong desire to learn a trade, be a team player who gets along well with others, is capable of handling and prioritizing multiple assignments, and takes pride in accurate and timely completion of tasks. An Associates degree in computer drafting or construction management, completion of a technical program in drafting, or 1 – 3 years of experience using Civil 3D, Carlson, LDD CADD or similar programs is desired. Other necessary skills include, basic plan reading, experience utilizing Microsoft Office, organizational skills, ability to communicate with co-workers and clients, and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam. On the job training provided. Position hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm. Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Truckdriver

Carpenter Foreman

Region: Corporate/Midwest

Description:
CARPENTER FOREMAN positions are available out of the Midwest Region. This position may include short/long term travel. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and assigning work to crew members including but not limited to: footing, wall and column forming, structural deck forms, layout and anchorage systems. Foreman must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 80 pounds, maintain high levels of efficiency without sacrificing safety and quality, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists, and be physically able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl. Candidates must have minimum of 5 years experience in a Carpenter Foreman role with Heavy/Highway Civil Construction Projects. Experience working on bridges, dams, and utility structures required.

CMGC Project Manager

This position will lead and expand Ames linear roadway and heavy civil projects. Primary responsibilities include; expanding Ames Construction’s practice and client relationships to linear infrastructure system consisting of roadway, heavy civil, structures and underground earthwork. Manage and oversee all aspects of a project, include setting budget, bidding, overseeing project personnel, and work with the client from start to finish. Candidate must have at least 8 years’ of experience as a Project Manager with a heavy highway contractor and/or performing as the Project Manager on a roadway CMGC construction project. Significant background in managing earthwork, underground and structures. Possess leadership and management abilities and excellent communication skills. Cosential System Specialist

Responsibilities include: develop and execute best practices to maintain records through data uploads, clean-up/duplicate removal, transferring/re-assigning, archiving, data health checks and reporting. Design, create, test, deploy and page layouts, workflows and reports, to ensure metrics. Monitor storage capacity and usage. Recommend solutions, processes, capabilities or apps that will enhance end user experience productivity. Maintain user roles to ensure access to the right data by managing the platform security settings and records. Troubleshoot and resolve user incidents. Candidate must have 3 years direct experience in all aspects of developing and implementing CRM solutions and with Cosential. Grade Foreman

This position will join the Midwest estimating team located in Burnsville, MN and provide cost estimation on projects throughout the Midwest region. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment. Position requires analysis of plans and specifications, managing multiple estimates or a major estimate, computer-aided preparation of quantities, proposal preparation, subcontractor/supplier solicitations, estimate setup and cost preparation. Ideal candidate will have 7+ years working as an estimator with thorough knowledge of construction methods and equipment utilization. Candidate must have a strong estimating background with experience in earthwork, light rail, railroads, pipeline, CIP concrete structures, bridges, piling, MSE walls, underground utilities, shoring systems, grading, and mechanical pipe. Responsibilities include field coordination, production and cost performance, GPS, work scheduling, jobsite safety activity, managing mass excavation with scrapper and truck spreads, dewatering, material screening, rip-rap placement, procurement of supplies and materials, and oversight/coordination of assigned subcontractors. Qualified candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a superintendent in heavy highway, channelization or other related heavy civil construction projects, specializing in mass earthwork operations. Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to mentor the workforce and possess superior organizational and technical skills. USCOE work experience is a plus. Assistance Environmental Manager

ASSISTANCE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER position is available in our southwest regional Corona, CA office. This position will assist the Environmental Team in meeting various regulations. Responsibilities include: review active projects weekly for compliance with environmental permits, conduct documented SWPPP inspections as needed for active construction projects and document SWPPP sampling inspections as needed for active construction projects. Prepare and provide technical resources to the project teams as needed. Assist in reviewing and gathering technical information required for SWPPP preparation and submittal and preparation of other environmental plans and permit needs for awarded projects. Candidate must have 5 years of environmental experience in highway, civil construction. Possess ability to work independently and is self-motivating. Knowledge of storm water rules, regulations and environmental requirements governing construction projects. Ability to interact and effectively communicate with all levels of project management staff, field personnel, contractors and clients, and willing to work in adverse climate conditions. CHIEF ESTIMATOR position is available in our Southwest office. This position is geographically based in Corona, California, and will cover projects in the surrounding states. The Chief Estimator will organize a strategic plan for pursuit of identified projects, prepares and supervises the preparation of bids and preliminary schedules to assist in the estimating process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to work closely with management to review local, state and federal regulations. Builds and maintains strong relationships in the industry to enable effective ties to local and national markets, review and understand all bid documents, assess project risks, understand project logistics and project schedule. Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier quotes and estimates with project management, and prepare estimates at different levels of completion. Desired candidate has minimum of 15 years’ estimating and project management experience, and 5 years of experience managing multiple estimators. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized accredited program.
