Carpenter Foreman

CARPENTER FOREMAN positions are available out of the Midwest Region. This position may include short/long term travel. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and assigning work to crew members including but not limited to: footing, wall and column forming, structural deck forms, layout and anchorage systems. Foreman must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 80 pounds, maintain high levels of efficiency without sacrificing safety and quality, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists, and be physically able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl. Candidates must have minimum of 5 years experience in a Carpenter Foreman role with Heavy/Highway Civil Construction Projects. Experience working on bridges, dams, and utility structures required.

Civil Superintendent

Description:

CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT position is available out of our Midwest region. This position is located out of Burnsville, MN but may cover projects in the surrounding states and include short/long term travel. Responsibilities include leading an effective disciplined team, delegate responsibilities and ensure a production of high-quality work. Monitor job schedule, track and coordinate work with subcontractors, adhere to budgetary guidelines and ensure cost control measures are adhered to. Inform Project Management of potential schedule difficulties, ensure construction complies with specifications and contractual requirements. Assist in preparing and executing work plans and material and equipment requirements. Identify safety hazards and take corrective action, assist in the training and development of craft personnel and enforce company policies, procedures, industry standards and client expectations. Qualified candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a foreman or supervisor in highway heavy construction managing crews of 20 or more people. Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of all aspects of civil construction. Well-rounded understanding of cost management processes, planning and scheduling. Possess strong written and verbal communication, ability to perform under schedule restraints and highly detail-oriented. Prioritization is crucial. Must have a valid Driver’s License.

CMGC Project Manager

Description:
CMGC PROJECT MANAGER positions are available at any one of the following regional offices, Burnsville, MN, Denver CO, Phoenix AZ, Salt Lake City, UT or Corona, CA. This position will lead and expand Ames linear roadway and heavy civil projects. Primary responsibilities include; expanding Ames Construction’s practice and client relationships to linear infrastructure system consisting of roadway, heavy civil, structures and underground earthwork. Manage and oversee all aspects of a project, include setting budget, bidding, overseeing project personnel, and work with the client from start to finish. Candidate must have at least 8 years’ of experience as a Project Manager with a heavy highway contractor and/or performing as the Project Manager on a roadway CMGC construction project. Significant background in managing earthwork, underground and structures. Possess leadership and management abilities and excellent communication skills. Working knowledge in HCSS, AutoCAD, AgTek, Terra-model, Primavera and Microsoft programs. On screen take-off is preferred. Some level of travel is required. A Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Desired experiences and attributes include: knowledge of marketplaces cited above and experience in capturing and delivering such projects. Management and engineering experience in planning, design and rehabilitation, and construction of roadway projects.

Grade Foreman

Description:
GRADE FOREMAN positions are available out of our Midwest Region. These positions will cover Minnesota, North Dakota and surrounding areas, including short/long term travel. Responsibilities include reading, measuring and staking grade, TOPO surveys, and observe or modify all excavating activities. Possess experience in the construction industry managing and training dirt crews and maximizing efficiency. Candidate must have 5 years experience in a supervisory role, construction survey and grade staking procedures and proficient with Trimble GPS system and software and Total Station.

Project Engineer

Region: Corporate/Midwest
Location: Minnesota

Description:
PROJECT ENGINEER position is available at our Midwest regional office. This position is located in Burnsville, MN, but may assist with projects throughout the surrounding states. The Project Engineer will be responsible for identifying critical work items, procure long-lead items, resolving field problems and conflicts with subcontractors. Manage document control, submittals schedules and contract documents, monitor quality control, and oversee a project safety and environment requirements. Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, change orders and project material and equipment. Build relationships and communicate with owners and partners, and provide support to the Project Manager and project staff. Perform other duties as appropriately assigned. Qualified candidate must have 3 years’ experience in highway heavy construction. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, positive attitude and excellent motivations skills. Project Safety Manager

Ames Construction, a national heavy civil and design build contractor, is accepting application for a Project Safety Manager position in our Midwest region. This position is geographically located in Burnsville, Minnesota, and will cover projects in the surrounding states or nation-wide. This is a field position and reports directly to the Regional Safety Manager. The Project Safety Manager will manage the project safety disciplines and monitor day-to-day construction operations for potential safety hazards. Conduct new hire orientations and drug screens, job-site training, safety audits and daily briefings, assess risk management and investigate worker’s comp injuries. Provide project safety statistics, assist Project Manager with environmental setups and collaborate with regional safety team. Candidate must have 5 years experience with OSHA and MSHA requirements and heavy civil construction safety, construction management, excellent communication skills and proficient in MS Word applications. Possess ability to interact with all levels of employees, management and agencies. Able to work to the demands of the project and schedule. An associate or bachelors degree and CSHT is preferred.
