Colorado Landfill

Ames Construction performed the excavation of a hazardous waste landfill in Colorado for a waste management company. The project consisted of mass scraper excavation/embankment, two clay layer embankments, a sand layer, an operational fill layer, and HDPE piping outfalls for leak, leachate, and sump collector systems.

Ames crews performed 568,000 cubic yards of earthwork on the project, with 115,000 square yards of finishing grade work and 78,000 cubic yards of clay material processing for embankment.

With 14,300 work hours on this project, crews recorded zero injuries or lost time.
