Western Lake Superior Sanitary District Landfill Closure

The WLSSD Landfill Final Closure project is the second phase of a commercial construction project with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as part of their Closed Landfill Clean-up Program.

Ames project scope consisted of removing and disposal of 500,000 cubic yards of existing cover soils, regrading 300,000 cubic yards of waste and installing 80 acres of liner and infrastructure work including piping. Additional soils were placed over the top of the liner and an active gas system was installed, including 75 gas wells and 20,000 linear feet of HDPE gas header pipe.
