The tailings dam work on this project consisted of excavation and regrading tailings to ensure a slope of 3:1 or less. The work scope included structural, mechanical, piping and liner installation, and constructing access roads.
Ames crews established the borrow area and excavated common, placing it to a depth of two feet over the regraded faces. Four rock armor sizes were designated and produced onsite by drilling and blasting, crushing and screening.
