PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER position is available to join the Renewable Energy Division at our Corporate office in Burnsville, MN. Projects are located across the U.S. The Preconstruction Manager will ensure that all estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents are in alignment with company goals. This position will communicate plans and strategizes closely with the senior management, marketing, estimating and business development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preconstruction stage of renewable energy construction projects
  • Support Project Management team as required during the construction phase
  • Builds relationships with vendors, suppliers, GCs, customers and other company departments to resolve issues during design and/or pre-bid phases
  • Manage communication with customers during RFP and design/contracting phases of the project.
  • Review drawings, specifications and all other construction documents and communicate issues, accuracy of information, and potential risks
  • Demonstrates proficiency in scheduling complete Preconstruction efforts
  • Assists estimating process and leads the presentation to the customer
  • Responsible for the accuracy of estimates and assists with suggestions for modifications and QA/QC of estimates
  • Regularly attend and participate in design meetings and contribute to the development of scope-of-work documents

Field RECRUITER position is available to join the Renewable Energy Division at our Corporate office in Burnsville, MN. This position will provide staffing services to the renewable energy project team for craft positions that will be placed across the United States. Attract candidates for up-coming projects, fill vacant positions and build a consistent candidate pool using various efforts and sources; such as, social media networks, job fairs and employee referrals.

Along with recruiting, the ideal candidate will work experience in screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates. Collectively, the Recruiter’s responsibility is ensure our Company attracts, hires the best candidates and retains employees while growing a strong talent pipeline. We are now seeking a Recruiter who is highly organized, detail oriented and looking for longevity and growth in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement recruiting strategies for craft position recruitment
  • Knowledge of craft positions and skillsets required in the construction industry. Field experience in construction trades preferred

The Office Coordinator will primary provide support to our main office and field offices, and also maintain communication with other regional offices when necessary.   • Report project progress and budgets to Solar VP Operations

CMGC PROJECT MANAGER positions are available at any one of the following office locations: Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT or Corona, CA. This position will lead and expand Ames linear roadway and heavy civil construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expanding Ames Construction’s practice and client relationships to linear infrastructure systems consisting of roadway, heavy civil, structures and underground earthwork
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of a project, including setting budget, bidding, overseeing project personnel, and working with the client from start to finish

REQUIREMENTS:

Project sites are located across the U.S. This position will support the daily tasks within the pre-construction team, but include an emphasis on solar PV modeling and design. We’re seeking a skilled professional in renewable energy who is a self-starter, highly organized, detail oriented and looking to grow within in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assisting with the pre-construction stage of renewable energy construction projects.
  • Support the Project Management team as required during the construction phase.
  • Builds relationships with designers, vendors, suppliers, customers and other partners to resolve issues during design and/or pre-bid phases.
  • Establish PV basis of design including but not limited to; Capex equipment optimization, string sizing, ground coverage ratio, power factor requirements, inverter loading ratio, cable sizing, etc.
  • Review bid drawings, specifications and all other construction related documents and communicate issues, accuracy of information, and potential risks.
  • Regularly participate in design meetings and contribute to the development of scope-of-work documents.
  • Create preliminary solar design packages, including 1-line diagrams, array layouts, fence layout, grading plans and road layout. (up to 30% completion)
  • Utilize PVSyst software in support of performance modeling.
  • Perform string size calculations and cable loss calculations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred.

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or related Autodesk software (Civil 3D, REVIT, etc.).

ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT position is available to join the Renewable Energy Division at our Corporate office in Burnsville, MN. Project sites are located across the U.S. This position will manager provide coordination, planning, and supervision to the Assistant Electrical Superintendents, Foremen, and craft personnel on renewable energy projects. Seeking a skilled professional in renewable energy who is highly organized, detail oriented individual and looking to excel in a dynastic environment.

The Electrical Superintendent will be assigned to project sites across the U.S. This position will provide coordination, planning, and supervision to the Assistant Electrical Superintendents, Foremen, and craft personnel. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordinating projects within the electrical scope of the renewable energy project and overseeing electrical craft personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate Projects -

  • Project coordination within the civil, mechanical and electrical scope of the solar project
  • Obtain high-quality installation of the project, including pile installation, tracker and racking installation and module installation
  • Provide drawing, constructability, submittal reviews, and feedback with the pre-construction team, verifying quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship conforms to specifications and updates of each contract document
  • Oversee the self-perform installation of all low and medium voltage systems incorporated on a solar project.
  • Work with project team in development of project schedules, updates, and creation of a 3 week look-ahead
  • Mange quality control of work teams, including self-performed work guaranteeing the necessary resources and support is available
  • Participate in project meetings, providing liaison between Field Engineers and craft personnel ensuring electrical components of each project comply with drawings and specifications
  • Aid in the development of Standard Work
  • Lead project safety culture on project

Oversight of Electrical Craft Personnel -

  • Review and monitor procurement of resources, methods, staffing, look-ahead schedules and coordination with other site activities
  • Collaborate with engineering staff ensuring plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs are transmitted accurately and in a timely manner
  • Coach, mentor and train field personnel, Foremen, and Assistant Superintendents
