DESCRIPTION:

CMGC PROJECT MANAGER positions are available at any one of the following office locations: Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT or Corona, CA. This position will lead and expand Ames linear roadway and heavy civil construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expanding Ames Construction’s practice and client relationships to linear infrastructure systems consisting of roadway, heavy civil, structures and underground earthwork
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of a project, including setting budget, bidding, overseeing project personnel, and working with the client from start to finish

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy highway contractor and/or performing as the Project Manager on a roadway CMGC construction project.
  • Significant background in managing earthwork, underground and structures

Grade Foreman

DESCRIPTION:

GRADE FOREMAN positions are located at our West Valley City, Utah office; and will cover Salt Lake City and Utah county areas. This position will monitor and supervise the excavation phase of a construction project and ensure this phase completes on schedule and in accordance with the set specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage work operations and crews, production and cost performance
  • Monitor work schedule, quality control and project safety
  • Conduct finish grading, mass excavation, GPS, procurement of supplies and materials

Field Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

FIELD ENGINEER position is available out of our Western office in Utah. This position is geographically located in Salt Lake City, Utah, but may assist with projects throughout the surrounding states. The Field Engineer will help support the project management team. Seeking candidates that are hard-working professional, able to undertake a variety of tasks, thrive in a fast-pace environment, interact with the project team and subcontractors, and provide hands-on direction to the success of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to project management and assist the Superintendent in creating work plans and maintaining the look-ahead schedule
  • Complete daily time cards from the foreman report and weekly payroll reporting
  • Track progress cost, budget vs actual cost variance
  • Track quantities of the completed work and what has yet to be completed
  • Monitory quality control, environment requirements and schedule control point inspections
  • Assist with permanent material, tools and material procurement
  • Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehouse materials and equipment

This position will assist the Project Manager to monitor the overall day-to-day construction work, project schedules, manage labor costs, coordinating subcontractor and manage craft workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead an effective disciplined team, delegate responsibilities and ensure production of high-quality work
  • Assist in the training and development of craft personnel and enforce company policies, procedures, industry standards and client expectations

DESCRIPTION:

EARTHWORKS SUPERINTENDENT position is available in Glendive, Montana reporting to the Colorado office. The project is geographically located along the Yellowstone River.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Field coordination, production and cost performance
  • GPS, work scheduling, jobsite safety activity
  • Managing mass excavation with scrapper and truck spreads
  • Dewatering, material screening, rip-rap placement
  • Procurement of supplies and materials
  • Oversight and coordination of assigned subcontractors

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience as a superintendent in heavy highway construction, channelization or other related heavy civil construction projects, specializing in mass earthwork operations

DESCRIPTION:

PROJECT ENGINEER position is available out of our office in Denver, CO, but may assist with projects throughout the surrounding states. The Project Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Estimating, project control, scheduling, quantity tracking,
  • Budgeting/cost control and tracking, processing submittals, RFI’s, change orders,
  • Subcontract administration, owner correspondence and billing,

Senior Estimator - Solar

DESCRIPTION:

SENIOR ESTIMATOR position is available to join the Renewable Energy Division at our Corporate office in Burnsville, MN. The Senior Estimator will organize a strategic plan for the pursuit of identified projects, prepares and supervises the preparation of bids and preliminary schedules to assist in the estimating process. This position will be responsible for providing leadership to the Estimating team and preparing full estimates for utility-scale renewable energy projects. Seeking a skilled professional in renewable energy who is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual and looking to excel in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Renewable Energy Estimating Team -

  • Effectively lead, train, and develop the solar estimating team on utility-scale solar estimating delivering conceptual and detailed cost models, and estimates
  • Allocate work assignments to the estimating team
  • Provide oversight to arrive at pricing for the final estimate
  • Deliver direction for output, communications, schedule, risks, and opportunities

Lead Renewable Energy Estimating Efforts -

  • Supply conceptual outputs, detailed estimates, self-perform work estimates and cost models
  • Lead estimating efforts to support utility-scale projects
  • Set schedules for completion of estimate reviews
  • Organize, research and strategically plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling and final submission to the customer
  • Create and implement standardized labor, equipment and material cost reporting and forecasting systems
  • Track operating group productivity, rates, and costs
  • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for projects as assigned
  • Provide value engineering insight during all phases of the design and proposal process
  • Manage the preparation of estimates ensuring all aspects of the project are analyzed and reviewed

Provide Oversight and Accountability of Projects -

  • Monitor take-off acting as a resource for other team members of the estimating team to coordinate and answer questions
  • Identify project opportunities and risks
  • Assist the project management team in the construction planning phase
  • Offer knowledge in the usage and maintenance of all estimating software

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of renewable energy industry estimating experience including knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
  • 3 years of experience managing an Estimating team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, AutoCAD, Outlook and related software programs
  • Conceptual estimating and solar design experience is required
  • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
