Ames was a joint venture partner for the 36-mile RTD Eagle P3 (Public-Private Partnership) design-build project, the first mass transit P3 project of this magnitude in the United States.

The contract included construction of 36 miles of new double-track electric commuter rail lines, 14 miles of new freight rail track work, 32 bridges, 30 at-grade crossings, 14 stations with Park-n-Ride lots, and a major vehicle maintenance facility. The project scope included grading, concrete, and structures work.

The Eagle P3 is comprised of RTD’s East Rail Line, Gold Line, Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility, and Northwest Rail Line Westminster segment. The commuter rail lines opened one at a time in sequence through 2016.
