Jennifer A. Thompson, Ames Construction’s Midwest Regional General Counsel, was recently recognized by the Association of Women Contractors (AWC) for 10 years of service as legal advisor to the association.

AWC Executive Director Barb Lau commended Jennifer at the group’s annual awards and recognition luncheon, graciously stating, “I cannot convey in words the value that Jennifer brought to this organization as we grew…. And more importantly, what she means to me as an advisor, mentor, colleague, and friend.”

While AWC board members typically serve for three years, Jennifer served the organization in this pro bono role from 2012 to 2022, resigning when she left private practice to work for Ames Construction.

In honoring Jennifer, the association presented her with a clock that was historically given only to AWC presidents. The clock had been officially retired as an honorarium a few years ago, but the AWC brought it back as an acknowledgement of Jennifer’s significant service.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your generous service to the AWC and the construction industry!
