Congratulations to the Sandpoint Junction Connector team! The project received the National Railroad Construction Large Project of the Year Award for exemplifying innovation, expertise, and quality project management.

The project consisted of building three rail bridges in conjunction with a second mainline addition through the corridor of Sandpoint, Idaho, including a 4,873-foot bridge over Lake Pend Oreille. The second track enhances freight efficiency through the region by allowing trains to run in both directions over the lake.

“Ames successfully addressed significant access and environmental challenges to complete the complex, three-year project in Sandpoint, Idaho, 14 months ahead of the owner’s schedule,” said NRC President Ashley Wieland in presenting the award.

We are very thankful for the people, client, partners, and community that played a part in this project’s success! You all crushed it! 👊
