Ames Celebrates a 2026 ICE Award and the Denver Community Behind It
Ames is proud to be recognized with a 2026 Infrastructure Construction Excellence (ICE) Award from the Colorado Contractors Association.
The award honors the I-25 and Alameda Bridge Replacement over the South Platte River in the Highway/Transportation – Bridges/Structures (CDOT) category.
Working in a busy Denver corridor next to the South Platte River required grit, long days, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way. Crews replaced the oldest bridge in Colorado’s state highway system while rebuilding nearby intersections and reworking the I-25 South Santa Fe Drive interchange. A key component of the project involved enhancing multimodal access with expanded trails, sidewalks, and an on-street cycle track connecting to the trail system.
Through it all, Ames crews showed up for Denver, minimizing disruptions, protecting the environment, and prioritizing safety every step of the way. Finishing on time and on budget, with zero environmental violations and no safety incidents, reflects the pride our teams take in serving the communities where they work.
We are grateful to the Colorado Department of Transportation and our project partners for their support, and the neighbors, businesses, and the wider Denver community for their patience throughout construction. This recognition belongs to everyone who helped bring this project to life.
